Het gebruik van zonnespiegels om duurzame warmte op te wekken, was tot voor kort alleen rendabel in warme landen en woestijnachtige gebieden. Dankzij technologische innovatieve ontwikkelingen is het vanaf nu echter ook mogelijk in Noord-Europa. De nieuwe generatie spiegels zijn vanaf 1000 zonuren per jaar competitief met gasprijzen. Om hier gebruik van te maken, heeft u natuurlijk wel een bepaalde oppervlakte nodig om de spiegels op te plaatsen. Hoe groot die oppervlakte precies moet zijn, hangt af van uw warmte-verbruik. van Antwerpen en zich toelegt op de overslag van chemische producten. Zij gebruiken gasgestookte stoom van temperaturen boven de 140\u00b0 om de viscositeit van de chemische producten optimaal te houden. Bovendien wordt stoom gebruikt om overslagtanks te reinigen. De productie van stoom gaat gepaard met een hoge uitstoot van CO2.
